Here is a picture I took of an area around Grindal Shoals the first day I got here.  I can’t explain wh I wanted a picture of the spot just where Tump Smoth road dumps out onto Bobby Faucette road up the hill from Sandy Run Creek (remember the pics I posted of Sandy Run earlier?  I took this one the same day but wasn’t sure why and so didn’t post it).

I knew after finding the records of John Foster’s land purchase on Wednesday that it must be near there, but when Robert Ivey and John Robertson and I arrived I was surprised, or maybe not so surprised to know that this had once all been Jasper land.  Jasper is the family of James Moseley’s wife.  Nicholas Jasper sold this piece at the corner and across the other side and down to Sandy Run to John Foster.  John’s will refers to his old place having the “Old Road” running through it.  That old road was the Cherokee Trail which Bobby Faucetter Road now follows.  That earlier pic I took is better than any I took Thursday so I will post it now.  I will be going back there on my own, it is very easy to find.
