The Mother Load

From about 2pm to 5pm I was inside the Union County Courthouse. Not much for pictures to show BUT…

…I hit the mother load of records and racked up $115 in photocopying fees.

I have copies of land records and estate settlements that should help piece together most of the family that stayed here after Frederick and Jared left.  Also in there should be details about where Foster land actually was.

The challenge now is going to be that the documents are hard to read as originals.  The copies are even harder to read.  I bought a magnifying glass tonight.

Tomorrow morning I’m meeting my guides at the Revolutionary War battlefield of Cowpens.  After touring there, I will be shown in detail the lands around Grindal Shoals.  I have been warned again about the ticks.  It will be the first day I spend most outdoors in this climate.  If the ghosts don’t get me tonight, then the ticks or the chiggers or the heat and humidity will.  Luckily the serial killer isn’t still on the loose.

My day will start at 5:00 am.  Thats 2:00am Alberta time.  Wish me luck.
