Having lived out the end of his life at the State Soldiers Home in Orting WA, Andrew J. Foster passed away in 1928. By this time three sons and his estranged wife Hannah Catherine Morgan Foster had established themselves in Alberta Canada.

Somewhere along this idealic stretch of Bradley County TN Frederick Foster had a farm. Just across the Hiwassee river to the north in McMinn Co. brother Jared (Jarrett) stayed and farmed with his son John when not on expedition with Maj. Lauderdale’s Tennessee Volunteers against the Seminoles in Florida .
Sandy Run – near Grindal Shoals, Union Co. SC
Sandy Run approaches the Pacolet River from the south just east of Grindal Shoals. The bottom lands among these ridges attracted pioneer families like Portman, Jasper, Moseley, Gault, McWhirter, Hames and Foster who arrived here in 1795.
