from the settlement of the estate of James Pickens, wife Martha, estate settled 1805-1820. John M Foster (signature) paid Frederick Foster, married to Polly Pickens and John Foster married to Jane Pickens cash as their part of the inheritance in 1810-1811. An Administrator Bond in 1814 is submitted by Martha Pickens, widow of James Pickens, along with William Brin or Birn, John Foster, Frederick Foster, and John Foster Jr.

From the will of Martha Pickens, widow of James Pickens, who died in 1839: she leaves to James P Foster, her grandson, “$100 and plantation of land on the Sandy Run for use of my daughter Jane Foster wife of John M Foster,” then the rest to be divided among her daughter’s children:
Delila Hampton, wife of Samuel Hampton Mary McWhirter, wife of Charles McWhirter, Thomas Foster, Nancy Foster, William Foster, Henry Foster, Jane Foster, Susan Foster and James P. Foster.

Henry Foster,(1830-1863),the son of John M and Jane Pickens Foster, and grandson of Martha Pickens is buried at Gilead Cemetery, just north of Jonesville in Union Co, SC.
