Affidavit of Mrs. H.C. Foster, Mother of William Cloyd Foster.

Canada, Province of Alberta, To wit:

In the Matter of the Date of the Birth of William Cloyd Foster of the Post Office of Lunnford in the Province of Alberta.

I, Hannah C. Foster, of the Post Office of Picardville in the Province of Alberta, Widow, make oath and say:

1. That I am the Mother of William Cloyd Foster and as such have a knowledge of the matters herein deposed to.
2. That I have a distinct recollection of the date of my son’s birth which occurred on his father’s farm near the hamlet of Ione in the State of Oregon in the United States of America on the 17th day of January A.D. 1889.
3. That the birth of my said son was never registered in any public register as the same was not required in that district at that time, there is therefore no official registration of the said birth.
4. That I make this statement under oath believing the same to be true and I make it for the purpose of enabling my said son to prove the date of his birth whenever the same shall be necessary.
