    Charleston is a jewel.

I arrived and got out last night just as the sun was going down.  Market Street on a Saturday night is a through of visitors from all over the world and locals out for a good time.  The air stays warm all night long.  I was out until about midnight.

It has been a late morning for me here, the idea today was to get up early tour Charleston in the daylight and then hit the road for 2.5 hours to Savannah, tour the city and then hit the road for 4 hours north to Spartanburg.  There is way to much to explore here in Charleston.  Savannah and Augusta will have to wait until another trip.  There will be other trips.

I am off to Fort Moultrie, that is the Fort a great great uncle Sgt. William Jasper became a hero at when a British Cannonball knocked the flag down, he risked his life to put it back up.  John Foster bought his home in Grindal Shoals from William Jasper’s brother.  And he married William Jasper’s niece.

Then maybe Fort Sumter where the first shots of the civil war were shot.  Then back to Market Street in daylight.
